How to use padlet, 7 ideas for using paddlet in your class

There are many stories of widening the educational gap in the classroom due to the coronavirus. In fact, as children do not come to school, it is a frustrating reality for parents and teachers whether they are studying properly at home.

Today's post is about a useful platform, Padlet.

Why is the Padlet platform becoming more popular than other platforms?

There is the reason.

1. You can use it without log-in

2. Its free

3. Its working well in smartphone

4. Its easy to make and use.

Then, I will introduce how to use padlet in your class.

1. Let's give a chance to self-evaluate

when you use the shelf, students can write their level of understanding separately.

In the photo above, students can write their thinking about math in 3 section.

and i commented each of posting.

When talking about the limitations of online classes, there are many stories that evaluation and feedback are difficult. 

However, if you use the padlet shelf function, you can express your understanding too 

easily.

I will introduce more 'how to use padlet.'

But you have to remember the purpose is to improve your student's understanding.

One more thing, It can be used not only for self-evaluation, but also for checking your understanding after class by writing what you learned, want to know more, and what you want from the teacher.

Its kind of self-evaluation too.

2. Let's Chat in Padlet!

If you use a function called back channel among paddle boards, 

you can paste boards as like you are in chats.

Its almost same. only different is board form.

and another merit, you can send pic, draw, video with your chat.

3. Let's expand sharing!

One of the merit of padlet is you don't need to log-in when you participate in padlet. 

(But you need Log-in if you want to make your own padlet.)

If your teacher sent link to you, you can access padlet with your phone, pc or smartpad.

Its the best merit that your class can be expanded with link.

The picture above is padlet board that many schools wrote down about writing question.

If 4 school combined, almost 100 students can write in the same place.

One more tip: Its better distinc post by color each of shcool or date.

4. Let's Talk with Image!

When we talk, Image is better than text sometime.

If you are element school teacher, sometimes you'll think 

"its better showing image than showing text"

For example) "Search fruit species." topic.

Pictures looks better than text. you can explain and share your idea in 1 second with your students.

You don't need to ask "what is the color of banana?"'

Just post banana pic, and show them.

One more tip: You can ask your student draw their pic and upload then share.

5. Let's use map!

 you can make your customed map. 

For example, "Let's travel tour place in the world."

You can drag and drop the pin or use search function.

and you can add your own information about that place. Text, Pic, vid, whatever.

It will be great experience if you use that padlet with your students.

6. Let's make a portfolio of learning content

I introduced already about shelf function in padlet.

now, I will extend that function.

What if you give the personal section to each students in the shelf?

You can make portfolio!

Its not only important thing in education evaluation.

Its much important how they did, How they follow the step for result, and how they overcame their mistake and failure.

Thats why you need portfolio about your students.

You can make Portfolio by using shelf function.

7. Brain storming

It is not easy for all students to have the same idea.

Because Its different what they learned, experieneced, and felt.

Of course they can think similar idea. 

What is the useful function on padlet to collect their idea?

Its the most useful thing that i recommended.

Its "canvas" 

This feature allows students to organize their thoughts at will, unlike other bulletin boards.

Its same like you move post-it on white board.
